Our guide will take you on a walk around the area, sharing the history of the hot springs and teaching you the traditional way to enjoy them.
The history of hot springs in the Nasu area began here. By exploring the rich history of this region, you can discover the deep connection between people and nature, as well as gain insight into the heart of Japanese culture.

Sansuikaku offers a comfortable atmosphere that is among the finest.
The Nasu Goyotei (Imperial Villa) is a part of the protected forest. Nasukougen no Yado Sansuikaku is located right by the Nasu Goyotei (Imperial Villa) . The hot springs from the mountains relax us and the food from the bountiful nature provides us with seasonal dishes. Our “Yamazato Kaiseki“ uses local produce to brings out the seasonal delicate flavors of Nasu. The wooden building from the early Showa era (1930s) has been enhanced over time to give our best service for our guests heart fully. The unprecedented quality of “Ryokan” (Japanese style hotel) won’t change throughout the ages. We will endeavor to pursue this superb service deeply.

DAY2
Guided Hike and Mountain Lodge Experience
Venture along ancient trails, culminating in an overnight stay at a secluded hot spring lodge accessible only by hiking. Feel the reward of your efforts as you soak in nature’s warmth.
Activity
Depart early the following morning and embark on a hike along trails once traversed by ascetics, winding through dense forests, vibrant marshlands, and volcanic rock formations. The variation in the scenery as you break through the tree line and out into the volcanic landscape waiting above reveals the park’s dynamic geological past.
Accomondation
The path culminates at Tabakoya Ryokan, a rustic mountain lodge perched amidst serene wilderness and accessible only on foot. Accommodation is basic yet comfortable, and the opportunity to meet with other hikers. Enjoy a simple yet restorative meal crafted from local ingredients brought up the mountain on foot by the dedicated staff members, then take a rejuvenating soak in an open-air hot spring under a glittering canopy of stars.
DAY3
Adventure to a Sacred Hot Spring
Walk through awe-inspiring landscapes in an exhilarating trekking journey.
Activity
On the final day, an early start is followed by a trek to a rarely accessible sacred hot spring source nestled deep in the mountains. The route is challenging, but those with a sense of adventure will enjoy a departure from the normal trails and into the normally inaccessible mountain areas. The journey concludes with a final leisurely hike to the Nasu Cable Car, descending to Nasu Onsen town.

This hiking tour will involve walking through mountainous terrain for two days. There are sections where you may need to use your hands to climb or cross streams. The terrain can be challenging, requiring both physical strength and agility.Required Experience and Preparation:
We recommend that only those with sufficient hiking experience and good physical fitness join the tour. If you do not have previous experience with mountain hiking, or if you do not feel confident in your physical ability to handle strenuous activities, this tour may not be suitable for you.Physical and Mental Readiness:

Onsen Bathing Etiquette:
Nude Bathing:
Onsen bathing in Japan is traditionally done without clothing. Everyone bathes in the nude, regardless of gender. This is a cultural norm, and it’s important to embrace the experience as a way of connecting with nature and relaxing.
Please note: swimsuits are not allowed in the onsen.
Shared Baths:
The onsen baths are typically shared with other guests, so it’s important to respect everyone’s privacy. Since most onsen are gender-segregated, you’ll be bathing with people of the same gender in the designated bath area.

1.3. Payment is non-refundable unless cancellation policies (Section 5) apply.

2.3. The provider reserves the right to refuse participation if safety concerns arise.
3. Equipment and Gear
3.1. The provider will supply necessary equipment unless stated otherwise.
3.2. Participants are responsible for bringing any personal items listed in the activity description.
3.3. Participants must use the equipment as instructed and report any damage or malfunction immediately.
4. Safety and Conduct
4.1. Participants must follow all instructions given by the activity guides or instructors.
4.2. Reckless, disruptive, or unsafe behavior will result in immediate removal from the activity without a refund.
4.3. The provider reserves the right to cancel or modify the activity if weather or environmental conditions pose a safety risk.
5. Cancellations and Refunds
5.1. Participant Cancellations:
Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made within 7 days will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
No refunds for cancellations made less than 3 days prior to the activity.
5.2. Provider Cancellations:
If the provider cancels an activity due to unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.
5.3. No refunds will be issued for participants arriving late or failing to meet at the designated start time.
6. Liability and Insurance
6.1. Participants join activities at their own risk. The provider accepts no liability for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal belongings unless caused by the provider’s negligence.
6.2. It is strongly recommended that participants have appropriate personal insurance to cover potential risks.
7. Assumption of Risk
7.1. Participants acknowledge that outdoor and adventure activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, weather changes, and natural hazards.
